Green Area
FEW RULES OF ONLY COMMON SENSE.
TO WALK "GREEN".
Since the beginning of our history, more than 120 years ago, we have developed and conceived our products in a responsible way. We have done our best to adopt the regulations that guide our sustainability management. We work every day, to the maximum of our commitment, to be able to do our best for our planet. We believe that creating products ethically – with a lower environmental impact and taking care of the planet – is the best path towards our future.
Sustainability is the basis of our corporate work. We invest time and effort every day to be able to produce at best and with the least impact on the planet.
Investing in a more sustainable future is the responsible and ethical choice we make every day.
The green collection is the result of a long journey of commitment, awareness and responsibility that Sabatini footwear has undertaken for some time.
We started with plastic. What we see popular, unfortunately, beaches and oceans. We know that a sustainable use of plastic is possible, which is why we have been moving in this direction for some time.
Plastic is a material with exceptional and extremely functional characteristics for the world of footwear. Lightness and resistance together with its being a clean and long-lasting material make plastic an element that can be used with awareness, creativity and responsibility. This is a commitment we have chosen to make every day.
In fact, we promote the creation of an environmental value that goes hand in hand with craftsmanship.
The result of the skill and artisan tradition that has distinguished our Made in Italy productions for more than 125 years, our collections have sustainability among their key elements.
REDUCTION OF WASTE PRODUCTION
In accordance with the company's Sustainable Development Policy, we are committed to reducing the production of waste, per pair produced, on an annual basis.
REUSE OF WASTE MATERIALS
CONSCIOUS CONSUMPTION
Through communication campaigns and internal initiatives, we promote the attitude of conscious consumption. In 2018, we replaced disposable cups with reusable cups. Where disposable is necessary, we always use glasses, cups and spoons in recycled or biodegradable material.
The culture of responsible use of resources has always been part of our corporate heritage. For this reason, we started the Sustainable Development Path already ten years ago, trying to improve the sustainability of our production and paying attention to the eco-efficiency of our operations.
Our corporate Sustainable Development policy is based on the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals and targets related to the evolution of global living standards and business activity through 2030.
We have established waste reduction targets (per pairs produced) and analyze the data on a monthly basis based on the management of indicators.
The use of new production technologies, mainly thanks to technological innovation, and the systematic adoption of production methods within the company, promote the lower consumption of raw materials, the efficient use of all materials in the processes of production, thus reducing the production of waste and waste.
USE OF GREEN ENERGY
The Sun, an inexhaustible resource, thanks to photovoltaics is able to produce clean energy that does not pollute and does not cause environmental damage. An ethical choice that Sabatini has been sharing for some time with all its collaborators and with you who choose its products.
- Use of only leather free from metallic elements such as chromium, cadmium and substances prohibited by European regulations (PCP, Cr. VI, Azo dyes)
- Separate collection in collaboration with Valle Umbra Servizi – www.vus.it
- Photovoltaic system for the annual production of about 92,000 kW
- Optimization of the use of advertising material with less use of paper
- Packaging with low environmental impact
- CAM cutting: fewer dies
- Water-based gluing
- Made in Italy production = Km 0
- Fully recyclable components
Sabatini is committed every day to guaranteeing sustainable development through a production process that uses renewable energy thanks to the power produced by two photovoltaic installations.
The photovoltaic plant in its two distinct sections as a whole produced over 110,000 kWh in 2020, with a producibility of approximately 1,365 kWh/kWp, a very positive value and higher than the average expectations of a photovoltaic plant located in the center of Italy.
The production of the plant made it possible to avoid the emission of about 53 t of CO2 in 2020 alone, a quantity that could be absorbed by over 5,500 trees in a year, and not to burn 20 t of oil.
